On August 16th my little brother married his best friend, Jenna. We were privileged to be apart of the celebration! They were married on the beautiful Orcas Island. The wedding was very unique and absolutely perfect. Jenna was brave enough to have me do her hair for her, which I was honored to do. Addison, Ainsley and Avery were flower girls and Addison very daintily dropped each petal one by one. Addison thought she was a bridesmaid and wanted to hang out with the "older ladies" as much as they would let her! She also was attached to Uncle Andrew and Aunt Jenna, and insisted on sitting with them while they opened presents and any other time she could steal their attention. They were very gracious and shared the spot light!
Keith was able to take the two weeks off of work and we made the almost 5000 mile trek to Vancouver, BC and back. It was so worth it to drive but we are so glad to be home! In Seattle we did the traditional tourist stuff such as seeing the first Starbucks (very significant:), the space needle and of course Pike Place Public Market. We were able to go to Victoria, BC which is absolutely gorgeous and reminded me of Europe. Keith and I would love to go back and spend more time here. Vancouver, BC was also worth the trip and the scenery was beautiful. We spent several hours in Stanley Park, which I highly recommend. We made the ferry trip to Orcas Island on August 15th and stayed there until the 17th. The ferry ride added to the fun atmosphere. Addison loved the "big boat" and was thrilled to see the captain! We stayed in the Orcas Hotel which was rented entirely for the wedding party and wedding. It was a very quaint bed and breakfast type place, adorable. We had fabulous weather the whole weekend and I think it's safe to say I've never been a bridesmaid where I sweated as much I did that day. Yes, too much information, but it's true, ask the other girls! Nevertheless it was perfect weather to be outdoors and for pictures. The bride looked lovely and the groom very dapper!
On the way home we were able to stop in Yellowstone National Park. This is something we've wanted to do for sometime and I think everyone should visit. Absolutely beautiful. The highlights included a herd of buffalo crossing the river next to us and Old Faithful. Definitely worth the trip!
Perfect Vacation!
